What is Tea Time, exactly?

Tea Time is where five-ish strangers sit at a cafe with a Host to have a two hour conversation. It's not about anything in particular.

You're meant to know pretty much nothing about the people that come, aside from the fact that they all signed up for this — just like you. It's self-selecting in that sense.

However, it may bring you comfort to know a little something about your Host. If so, just keep reading

Meet your Host, John .

(It'll be helpful to know what they look like when you're looking for a group of confused strangers at the cafe.)

All my life I've known diversity, as I am a Korean, Jordanian, Greek mutt.  What has diversity taught me? That I love people and can relate to almost anyone! I love being around people and discussing interests, passions, dreams.

I've lived in the Peninsula part of the Bay all my life (San Bruno) which is very different from Sf, and Berkeley where I have spent a somewhat decent amount of time. But I love exploring new places, and hearing about different communities and backgrounds.

What's your story?

It was the blistering cold in the freezing Tundra I was but a small child on a nature adventure with friends when an Ox came charging at us; without thinking I leaped in front of the beast and wrestled it to the ground, as my barbaric roots came to the rescue.

Okay maybe some of the parts of my story were fabricated, the Ox was more like my dog, the Tundra was more like 55 degrees, which for Bay Area people, is the "blistering cold."

What can we take away from that story I created; I like to tell stories, I love nature, I appreciate animals, I tend to act or seem serious, but hidden is a huge sense of humor.

Since I was a child I would tell stories to customers at my parent's small mom and pop deli based in Burlingame, whether they were entertained or bored I would share as I wanted everyone to eat food, work, live their lives with a smile. My parents would always say I was too ambitious for my own good, but that led me to mature extremely fast.

I've had my fair share of experiences, the very low lows, and higher-ups, but I don't want to give away too much of my story before our wonderous meet-up!

What might we talk about?

I love talking/listening as new perspectives is my way of learning at an accelerated pace, so our conversations can begin with the funniest moments of our lives, to something really serious like, what is your notion of the meaning of life. If you have something cool to teach me, or others please share always tryna up my arsenal of cool thangs. Let's learn from each other and share perspectives, take a leap of faith and sign up for me tea time!

Smiling doesn’t cost a thing, so keep smiling.
