Three random facts about me: (1) I dream of a world in which we all actually listen to each other, instead of waiting for our turn to talk. (2) My favorite two TV shows are Arthur and Jeopardy!, making me simultaneously an 8-year-old and an 80-year-old. (3) One time I hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back on a whim. What'll happen when we get six people together with all kinds of eccentricities? It'll be an adventure of a conversation.
What's your story?
After growing up in Pittsburgh, I never thought I'd end up in this crazy city. But I believe that every person you meet is a treasure trove of interesting life experiences and wisdom, and there's no better place to meet interesting strangers than NYC. They say that life begins at the edge of your comfort zone, so I try to do one thing a day that scares me. I'm still trying to figure out why I'm here and what I'm meant to be doing -- but for now, I live for stories of inspiration and growth, I smile at strangers like it's my job, and more than anything, I'm excited by the idea that single acts of kindness can cause chain reactions and change the world.
What might we talk about?
The important stuff - empathy, adventure, that board game you really miss from when you were a kid, why we're here, minimalism, making a difference, that cool fact about sharks you learned yesterday, meditation, finding a sense of purpose, the word you missed in the spelling bee in 7th grade, gratitude, why we don't write letters anymore, the pipe dream you haven't given up on yet, making up stories about strangers on the street, becoming a better human. But really, we'll see where the conversation goes -- come and shape it.
